STRATEGY CATALYST | STAKEHOLDER CATALYST | MANAGEMENT CATALYST

Management Catalyst is the base simulation offered by PM Catalyst and explores the fundamental concepts related to the Project Management, project-oriented business management and management by objectives (MBO). As with the other PM Catalyst simulations, participants are presented with a real-life case study. The case centres on the building of a high-speed railway between the two cities situated in the Arctic environment.

The project has to commerce at both cities and meet midway. Events transpire while teams need to actively manage project scope, risks and stakeholders, scarce resources and budget. As with any project of this magnitude, teams have to contend with working in a high-pressure environment where timeframes are tight – these elements are fundamental to the simulation.

Reflection points are held after each few rounds, and participants are encouraged to understand what they could have improved on, as expert facilitators discuss industry best practice. They are then given the opportunity to use these insights to see how their performance can be improved in future rounds.
